World Mental Health Day 2025
This week has been all about connections — in learning, in wellbeing, and across our community. Today, Mr Panons led an assembly marking World Mental Health Day.
Research shows that 70–80% of autistic children and adults experience or have experienced mental health difficulties in their lifetime. At St Dominic’s, we work hard to ensure no pupil feels isolated.
Through ELSA (emotional literacy support), counselling, and our needs-led curriculum, we focus on developing the whole child, supporting skills for learning, communication, enrichment, independence and self-development. Promoting awareness and openness around mental health helps our pupils build strong emotional connections with others and know that support is always available.
Next week, a reminder that we’ll continue celebrating connection with our first ever Culture Day on Wednesday 15th October. The theme — Hobbies and Interests — will be a fun opportunity for pupils to share what they love and discover common ground with others across the school.
