Winchester Science Museum trip

The year 8 pupils travelled to Winchester to visit the Science Centre and Planetarium. On the long minibus journey pupils enjoyed playing ‘Guess the Disney Movie’ from the soundtrack. Pupils participated in a workshop called ‘Discover: Matter’; during which they worked collaboratively to investigate the states of matter and smart materials by creating slime and home-made bouncy balls. Pupils then explored the interactive activities in the ‘Explorer Space’, demonstrating excellent turn taking skills. After lunch, pupils entered the planetarium, they sat quietly and listened to the presenter as he took us on a journey through the universe. We learned about the planets in our galaxy, how galaxies are expanding and colliding and the constellations of stars.
