We made the finals!

What an opportunity! St Dominic’s School football team qualified for the engage in their future 2021 7-a-side football tournament finals, held at St George’s Park in Staffordshire on 14th October. This followed matches played in the qualifying tournament in West Sussex against other regional teams.

Our team had an early start, setting off from the school grounds at 7am on a very chilly morning, 9 boys and 4 members of staff, to undertake the long journey to Staffordshire. Despite the chill, the mood was upbeat and cheerful and full of optimism for the adventure ahead.

The finals competition was staged on the David Beckham pitch, commencing at 10.30 am. Qualifying teams were allocated to two leagues at random, playing against each other on a points basis until the league winners came up against each other in the gripping final match.
