St Dominic’s School is a special school in Godalming, Surrey, and stands in 56 acres of wooded grounds with ample space for outdoor learning activities. The school provides for 150 pupils and students between the ages of 7 – 19, who have a range of academic abilities and complex needs. It is owned and run by Orchard Hill College Academy Trust.
We offer access to an extensive range of GCSE subjects pitched at individual students’ levels. Within the Sixth Form, students are able to access external college placements as part of their personalised holistic education and therapy provision.
The School has an in-house team of qualified therapists offering Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration. The range of therapeutic support available to pupils and students enables them to access the curriculum at an appropriate level, maximising each individual’s potential for achievement. Additionally, there are purpose-built medical facilities where nursing cover is provided on a daily basis by qualified staff.
The School has achieved Advanced Autism Accreditation, the prestigious Arts Council ‘Artsmark’ Silver Award and holds the National Healthy Schools status. Candidates must be able to convey core subjects and topic-based learning to pupils who have a range of abilities and be able to monitor and assess to ensure the best possible progress.
The successful candidate will have a commitment to developing outstanding practice and the desire and drive to improve educational outcomes and life chances for our very special pupils. Applications are welcome from UQTs, NQTs and experienced teachers who have the ability to think creatively and are resilient and motivated by challenges.
