Upper School take the win!
The third annual Señor Hector Alonso-Martinez Memorial Charity Shield Annual Knockout Tournament Grand Final was played out on the final day of last half-term in front of a capacity crowd.
Lower School staff, the reigning champions, in smart yellow and black striped kit borrowed from the PE cupboard, and Upper School staff, sore losers in black kit dug out from the back of wardrobes all over Surrey, faced off in what must be one of the bitterest derbies in world sport.
It was a match full of drama and a game of two halves, with Upper School 3-0 up at half-time. With the score at 3-3 with five minutes to go, a late Upper School goal was met with a frenzy of excitement – and then disallowed, only to be followed by another Upper School goal a few moments later that proved to be the winner.
Mr Rye, the Upper School goalie, was named Player of the Match.
Who will win next year?
