Our therapeutic aim is to extend the skills of each individual according to his/her ability.
Pupils and students have an active part to play in the school and their opinions and views are taken into account through formal and informal means.
At St Dominic’s School we believe that a close working relationship with families is one of the keys to making progress
We are a team of Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSAs) who work in a variety of different pupil/student facing roles within the school. We have undergone special training to help us support pupils and students who may need some time to talk through any worries or anxieties. We work through play, art or discussion and can be a first step before counselling. Staff and families are able to ask for ELSA support for a young person but pupils and students themselves are able to ask for this support themselves.
