St Dominic’s School is a well-known and highly regarded special school in Surrey and stands in 56 acres of wooded grounds with ample space for recreational activities.
This section provides key information including how the school spends the funding it receives, its policies and procedures, how pupils and students perform in exams and assessment, inspection information and the school's self-evaluation.
At St Dominic’s, our focus is on facilitating quality opportunities for pupils to learn and make progress.

Our therapeutic aim is to extend the skills of each individual according to his/her ability.
Pupils and students have an active part to play in the school and their opinions and views are taken into account through formal and informal means.
At St Dominic’s School we believe that a close working relationship with families is one of the keys to making progress
We are currently fundraising to install a brand new, secure sensory play area to meet the needs of our lower school pupils. St. Dominic’s currently has just one play space for all pupils and students in the school (aged 7 to 19 years).
A dedicated space with age-appropriate play equipment for our youngest pupils (aged 7 to 13) will support them to regulate their emotions and behavior; develop early play skills; and encourage social interaction and skills such as communication, self-confidence, cooperation and independence.
The new play space will be located directly outside our lower school classrooms on a section of terraced garden which is currently unused. This will provide immediate access and breakout space, and avoid younger pupils having to travel across the school to access outdoor play. Alongside our classrooms will be a sand pit, water play and mud kitchen, covered by a polycarbonate canopy. This protection will enable this sensory space to be used in all weathers.
The next level will house swings, talking tubes and a St Dominic’s Tower play unit, echoing the school’s own tower which is also the school logo. This addition will help the younger pupils to feel part of the school’s identity. On the lower level will be sunken trampolines and a fitness trail. All levels will be landscaped and securely fenced.
We welcome donations from individuals, companies and charitable trusts towards this new equipment. Please contact Jessica Zubaidi at jzubaidi@ohcat.org if you would like to support this vital project.
