Head of Care – Residential

Location: Grafham Grange School, Guildford and St Dominic’s School, Godalming, Surrey Hours: Full time

Job Description

The Head of Care will be responsible for the leadership of the whole care team under the direction of the Principal in support of children and young people who live in residential accommodation at the school, providing a happy, homely and secure environment which extends their learning to provide a 24-hour curriculum.

The Head of Care will also be responsible for the establishment of high quality procedures and policies which ensure the health and safety of pupils and staff and to ensure that all incidents and concerns are investigated, recorded and acted upon to promote the continuous improvement of the service to young people and their parents.

In addition, it will be an important part of the role to be able to provide leadership in the school as a member of the School Leadership Team and to take a leading role in awareness raising, thereby promoting the school’s success and improvement, ensuring high quality support to the care and education departments for all its learners and improved standards of achievement.



Person Specification

It is a requirement of that the post holder has a Level 5 qualification either in Health & Social Care or Childcare, clean driving licence and other relevant training such as First Aid, Child Protection, Behaviour Management, Allegation Management, Safer Recruitment, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
