From Sixth Form Student to Higher Level Teaching Assistant: Charlie’s inspiring journey
Charlie, a former St Dominic’s Sixth Form student has built an inspiring career. Starting with a work experience placement in a primary school, Charlie impressed staff and soon secured a part-time role.
Charlie initially joined the primary school while studying at St Dominic’s School, as a work experience placement to gain insight into life in education. Following the experience, Charlie was offered a part-time role at the school, marking the beginning of a steady and dedicated career. Over the years, Charlie has developed skills across the classroom, supporting teaching staff and taking on increasing responsibility within the school community.
Now, nearly a decade on, Charlie has progressed to become a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) and the school’s PE Lead, playing a key role in both classroom support and promoting sport.
From a Sixth Form student exploring career options to a HLTA within the school, Charlie’s story and his hard work and commitment continues to inspire both pupils and staff alike.
Hear what Charlie has to say about his journey and how St Dominic’s School “gave him the skills and the foundation blocks.”
It’s always wonderful to hear from our former students and see how they are progressing on their chosen paths after leaving school.
