Save the date! Culture Day 2025
The Needs Led curriculum encourages individuality and allows pupils and students to explore what makes them unique. Whether it is enhancing their communication skills or preparing them for increased independence, our therapeutic focussed learning is always personalised to each group.
Within Citizenship and PSHCE, we shine a light on particular aspects of the world in order to try and make sense of them and educate ourselves.
With this in mind, we’re excited to announce that our first ever Culture Day is fast approaching, and this year’s theme is all about celebrating the wonderful hobbies and interests that make our pupils and students unique!
On Wednesday 15th October, we invite all pupils to come to school dressed in a way that represents one of their favourite hobbies or interests. This could be anything from a beloved Football team, a favourite band/singer, a TV character or even a board game they enjoy. Whether it’s baking, gaming, skateboarding or Pokémon card collecting, we want to see it all.
A few gentle reminders:
- No political or religious attire, please
- Costumes should be school-appropriate and comfortable enough to wear throughout the day
- Fancy dress is very much permitted (and encouraged!)
On the day, pupils will contribute to a collage of hobbies and interests, helping them discover shared passions with others across the school. Later in the half term, we’ll use this to support the formation of new social groups and communities, encouraging friendships built on common ground.
We hope this day will be a joyful celebration of individuality and connection and allow people to discover like-minded enthusiasts, be it amongst the pupils and students or perhaps within the staff team!
