Leading Parent Partnership Award

We are currently working towards the Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) – a school improvement award with pupils, students and their families at the heart of the process.

Asking families what they think

In 2021, we circulated a survey to find out the views of our families regarding the school in terms of experiences, thoughts and suggestions. Many of the responses centred around training, increased opportunities to be involved, more events and chances to visit the school to gain an understanding of the school through the eyes of the pupil/student.  Some families also requested increased information about strategies to support their child at home.

We have worked hard to listen and respond to these suggestions; for families who have had children at St Dominic’s for a year or more, we hope that you feel that your child’s and your own experiences of the school have improved in terms of these areas. For our new families, you may already have some feedback and / or recommendations.

We have just recirculated the same survey to families, to evaluate our current provision to help us understand what we are doing well and how we can do even better.

Working with families and other partners

We have set up a working group to meet to look at steps to achieving the award and reviewing the responses from the family survey.  Parents have volunteered to join us and we have invited Governors, Alternative Learning Providers, the Local Authority and our Student Voice to be part of the process or to be kept up to date about the exciting developments.
