Summer Fete

We have taken the difficult decision to cancel the Summer Fete which was due to take place on Saturday 6th July.  See our news page for further details.

Welcome

A very warm welcome to St Dominic’s School.

We are a learner and family centred Academy supporting the complex needs of up to 100 day and residential pupils and students with statements of special educational needs with a primary diagnosis of SLCN and/or ASC.

Our aim is to help each pupil and student and their families achieve ambitious goals enabling them to live life to the full. We accept and celebrate our unique identities and respect and value each other for who we are and what we can achieve as individuals and as a community. All staff members, regardless of role, see themselves and the duties they undertake in relation to securing positive outcomes for all pupils and students.

We believe passionately in a multi-disciplinary ‘blended’ approach to meeting each child’s needs, resulting in carefully managed groupings, including specialist intervention work from our in house therapeutic team. The school works closely in partnership with families, referring authorities and external agencies to coordinate the best possible care, guidance and support for its pupils and students.

We ensure that each of our Year 11 or Sixth Form leavers  emerge as self-confident, independent  individuals, able to manage their own learning and behaviour and equipped with the competencies, skills and strategies to take the next steps into further or higher education and the world of work.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful school community should you decide to make contact with us.

Mrs Angela Drayton - Principal

The residential special school provides highly effective services that consistently exceed the standards of good. The actions of the school contribute to significantly improved outcomes and positive experiences for children and young people. Ofsted – March 2018
