Year 10 Pupils Explore the Wonders of Wisley Gardens
This week, Year 10 enjoyed a highly successful Science visit to RHS Wisley, supported by warm, sunny weather that helped make the experience especially memorable.
Pupils represented the school excellently throughout the day, demonstrating outstanding behaviour, maturity and respect for staff, visitors and one another.
They also strengthened their social skills and independence as they moved confidently between the different activities and learning spaces.
The trip offered pupils a valuable opportunity to explore the wide range of career pathways connected to plant science, including horticulture, conservation, botany, ecology and environmental science. It also enriched their understanding of key areas of biology by linking classroom learning to real-world examples.
There were many memorable moments along the way, including a delightful sighting of a duck with her ducklings, pupils enjoying ice-creams in the sunshine, and the chance to create their own mint clones from cuttings.
Overall, the visit was an inspiring and informative experience that brought biology to life and helped pupils appreciate the importance of plants in ecosystems, human wellbeing and the future of environmental sustainability.
