The School

Grafham Grange School is a Non Maintained Special School with residential and day provision for up to 52 boys with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), located on a 42 acre site incorporating playing fields and fishing lakes.

With our committed support and guidance, our pupils manage to overcome significant barriers to learning, acquiring the skills and competencies to rejoin mainstream post-16 education with a broad spectrum of qualifications and there-by building themselves better futures.

The Role

To be responsible to the Head of Care for carrying out the duties of a school nurse by being the lead professional responsible for all aspects of pupil health care and supporting the education process.

To provide preventive health services to facilitate pupil's optimal physical, mental, emotional and social growth and development. Identifies problems and disabilities and provides such services as case finding, health education, referring and care in order to help prevent serious health problems which would later be more difficult and costly to address.

Previous experience of working with SEMH pupils is not essential, and applications from colleagues currently in mainstream settings are encouraged. The school is committed to CPD across its staff teams.
