A significant proportion of pupils and students attend St. Dominic’s at least partly because their complex needs and associated behaviour has been too challenging for their mainstream school to cope with
  • Several pupils enter St. Dominic’s each year after exclusion/long term absence from other schools due to their complexity of need
  • 36.1% of pupils with eligibility for free school meals (2015, 60% percentile), an increase from 18.9% in 2013 indicating a change in profile of need since the last inspection
  • Pupils and students come to St. Dominic’s at different points in their educational journeys and as a result stability is low (25%, 2015 compared to 91.9% nationally) which can impact attainment data
