Student Voice Meets Rt Hon Mr Jeremy Hunt MP

11th March 2016

On Friday, St. Dominic’s had a visit from the Rt Hon Mr Jeremy Hunt MP. Mr Hunt was invited by our school’s Student Voice to attend one of their meetings so they could share with him the role that they have in the school community and to find out more about the work of an MP.

The Student Voice representatives asked Mr Hunt some of the questions that the whole school submitted prior to his visit.  Topics included a question about the role of an MP, the EU Referendum,  junior doctors’ contracts, his understanding of Autism and who Mr Hunt would support as the next leader of the Conservative Party!

The Student Voice representatives are following up the visit with a tour of the House of Commons in the summer term.

Mr Hunt said of his visit   “I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet with members of St. Dominic’s School’s Student Voice Council last week.  We enjoyed an open and frank discussion on a variety of topics and I really enjoyed the chance to talk with the students and understand their concerns and ideas.

This specialist School is doing some amazing work. What struck me was the obvious passion from the school’s teachers I met and their belief and commitment for their students.”
